Today was the day for wandering, we wandered out to the edge of town and up to a Monument that looks out over Ulaanbaatar. We all had a great time and with the aid of a lollipop and a couple of chocolate fish (thanks bert) the kids made it all the way up. It was nice to get a bit of exercise and have the opportunity to just be tourists. The river pictured is one of the main rivers called the Tuul and I discovered the other day that the same operators that run jetboat rides on the Waimak River near Kaiapoi also operate on the Tuul over here - small world huh?. In the last pic looking out over UB our current Apartment is just infront of and to the left of the tallest building in town - handy landmark that!.

ReplyDeleteHi Belinda & Steve,
ReplyDeleteHave only just got your site from George. Amazing photos which shows what these people do to survive. People in Aussie or NZ just don't know how off we are. You guys are just like us, which is travel and go to new and different countrys around the world. The kids seem to be enjoying themselves and it will be an experience that they will always remember.
Regards, Evan & Meroli
