Maybe I'm too much of a pessimist but things have been going far better than expected. 17 hours on planes, about 10 hours at airports and the kids haven't shredded our ears or nerves. Praise God for Starwars Lego and little tins of toys (and thanks Kath and Ali).
We were met by two enthusiastic volunteers at the airport, crammed 10 people and truck loads of gear into the VSO van and made our way with two sleeping kids into the city and our temporary apartment. We haven't got internet access for our laptop sorted yet so no photos sorry. The apartment is pretty nice. Its owned by a family who are on summer holidays at the moment so full of their pots and pans (and a new Sony Bravia tv which is ok). There's plenty of room for the kids to run around and the inevitable third world finishing touches: naked live wires, scotch tape mending of everything, light switches which fall off... but we're so happy here. We're kinda walking round high actually.
So the NZ ambassedor is in town at the moment and has invited NZer's out for dinner tonight. I found out through a NZ vet who's here at the moment and arranged for him to take b out to meet people. I'm meeting more people than I know what to do with but b will need some creative ways (like a free dinner!)

Steve
